  1. Hi Robin,

I have just read the article about shoulder injuries on UKC

I am a climber and I broke my shoulder in August. The scapula on the corner of the shoulder.
I have been back climbing regularly 3 times a week since september.
Sometimes however I feel a twinge in my shoulder if I swing my arm really fast, or a fast dynamic move with right arm. When I am fully warmed up it isn’t that bad. When I wake up in the morning it is worse. I do not think it is an impingement though because it doesn’t really hurt to lift it above my head I just get this niggling feeling sometimes.

Someone has recommended that it could be scar tissue in my shoulder from the break and that a massage would help it.

Thanks for any help you can suggest

  2. Hi Robin

I’m 17 and been climbing for 2 and a half years. I train about 4 to 5 days a week but I don’t feel like I am getting any better or stronger. I was wondering if you coached in the Bristol area? if so would you be around next week for a coaching session?

  3. Hi Robin,

I have had wrist pain for over a year now on the palm side of my wrist on the small finger side. I have seen a number of physiotherapists who have all suggested different things and i have also had surgery for a suspected TFCC tear which it turned out not to be. I have some pain and quite a lot of swelling on the inside of my elbow (on the same arm) and some swelling running up the inside of my bicep. I was wondering if you operate in central London at all or if you might have any advice you could offer please?

The physio I am currently seeing suggests it may be irritation/inflammation of the ulnar nerve.
